Latent Space is a video installation that subverts methods of how we keep time. The “digital” clock lives on the web as a live stream of a physical Rolex Datejust. Through multiple layers of connectivity and server response times, it questions the idea of keeping time and examines the artifact as it gets transferred to digital.
The physical watch is captured through a program called Open Broadcaster Software then linked to Twitch streaming platform. The stream is then embedded on a hosted website. Time ‘accuracy’ becomes dependent on server response time.
